Forming part of a new series for 2023, 'The Sketch Book Series'. A slightly looser, more fluid style that I have initially captured while at each particular place.

The harbour at Brixham is the heart of this bustling fishing town on the southern side of Torbay. The famous museum ship the Golden Hind can be seen in the foreground, moored in front of the Old Market House which is now a restaurant and bar, and the labyrinth of colourful cottages rise above the town. Awash with history and famous for its yearly pirate festival, Brixham is full of character which I wanted to capture in this painting. It’s a great place to take a boat trip, sample some local seafood, soak up some art and culture, or just have a lovely day milling about.
