I was really inspired by the beautiful Dutch architecture of Amsterdam and loved painting the townhouses in this piece. I liked to imagine that each house was a reflection of the people within them, behind each door a narrative and story plays out. In fact you can see stories beginning on the doorsteps of some of these houses if you look closely...
