Collaboration With Exeter Gin
One of the most exciting collaborations has been working with award-winning Exeter Gin Distillery. Karen, who owns Exeter Gin, came into my gallery one day and asked if I would like to work with her on a unique gin, something bespoke for us and our gallery which features my artwork and showcases Teignmouth.
Although called Exeter Gin, Karen and her distillery is actually based in Teignmouth. Karen and I wanted to put Teignmouth in the limelight, and we decided there was no better way than to create something distinctly inspired by the coast with a bottle that celebrates Teignmouth. Fast forward and Seaside Gin was born, a small batch, hand-crafted London dry smooth gin, with seaweed infused botanicals and a gold award-winner TWICE! In Food Drink Devon 2020/21 and Taste of the West 2020!
The bottle features my artwork and, inspired by the infused seaweed, we decided to create a wax top that resembles seaweed.
The gin was so well received by our customers that Exeter Gin then created us a Strawberry and Vanilla gin which uses all natural ingredients. The vanilla is sourced from eco friendly Devon’s The Little Pod Co., and the strawberry is pressed from real strawberries from British Farms. There is nothing artificial or compromised - including the strength which is 40%! Unlike many other flavoured gins, which often use artificial ingredients and become more of a liquor at much lower ABVs.
We THEN decided to bring out a navy strength gin, inspired by our hardy fishermen here in Teignmouth. We called this one Fisherman’s Strength Seaside Gin and it is a whopping 57%. The label features one of our local fishing trawlers, Vagabond Des Mer, and suffice to say the crew enjoyed it and approved of the gin!!
All the gins can now be collected in miniature too, in a beautiful gift box.
We are very proud of all our gins and excited to see what we develop next… maybe rum?!
